An experienced attorney such as me simply knows more than a clerk, and can perform the services more rapidly and confidently.  You don't have to mentor and guide me, just have me get the work done, as if it were you.  You can bill your client for my services at your own hourly rate, but you can't with a law clerk.  A law clerk costs you money; I help you make money.
